A lot of the tornadoes that Italy gets, and in some of the other Adriatic countries, approach a similar intensity as tornadoes in the American South and Midwest. Venice had a tornado a few years ago that was very strong. Poland and Russia are also known for getting strong tornadoes.

All these people filming the tornado TOWARDS them should seriously be moving to their basement, storm cellar, or bathroom if there isn't a basement, no matter where the tornado is. Gotta love stupidity. 'Oh, a tornado! Gotta film it!' Duh!

Oh man, that first one was intense. I really hope the tornado changed directions, but hopefully not toward someone else. It was definitely not stationary. It's impossible to tell if it's coming right at you until it hits power lines. Once it hits those power lines, you know it’s not just moving slowly in another direction. Those power flashes are a clear sign it's moving, and if it looks like it's not moving, that means it's coming straight at you. The scary part is that tornadoes usually follow a straight path, and it's rare for them to change direction. So, if it's coming your way, you should assume you're about to be hit. But even if it's not headed toward you, don't assume it won't change direction. It's like wearing a seat belt. Car accidents aren't common, but they're not rare either. You wear a seat belt every time because you can't assume you won't be in an accident today even knowing its true you probably wont be in any accident today?
